Tiny Star ⭐

Fun free tiny star pattern is one of my favorite tiny stars.

Old free pattern for Tiny Star is still free, but is now the Tiniest Star.

Both the Tiny & Tiniest Star patterns are now also included in the Star Chart Pattern, including 12+ crochet star patterns of various designs, sizes, and styles.

So many uses for these cute little stars. Use for Holiday decorations, for Christmas, 4th of July, or make earrings, or other jewelry or crochet.

Written by Cathleen of Doily Designs, 2021, in US crochet terms.

Yarn: Very small amount of worsted weight yarn.

Hook:  Size E or F hook.

Measurement:  Approximately F hook = 4 cm/1.57 in, H = 5 cm/1.96 in

Gauge:  4 Sc x 4 Rows = 1 inch

Construction:  Made from the center out, using Magic Ring.

Very quick and easy for lots of fun with TINY STARS ⭐

Special Stitches:

Mr (Magic Ring):  Loop yarn around 2 fingers, pull loop on hook thru, leaving an open ring with strands removed from around your fingers, Ch 1, work stitches into this ring and around the tail, after working sts untwist the tail, join, close Mr by pulling tail firmly but gently closed tight.

Stitch Key:

Ch:  Chain

Mr:  Magic Ring

Sc:  Single Crochet

Sl st:  Slip Stitch

Begin

Rnd 1:  Make a Mr, Ch 1, 5 Sc in mr, join with  Sl st in 1st sc, close mr.

Rnd 2:  *Ch 3, Sl st in 2nd ch from the hook, Sc in 3rd ch, Sl st in next sc,* repeat * to * around 4 x's forming 5 point star, join with Sl st in 1st sp, fasten off, weave ends.

Rnd 1:  Step 1: Make a Magic ring, Ch 1,

Rnd 1:  Step 2:  5 Sc in Mr, join with Sl st in 1st sc, Close mr pulling tail gently but firmly closed.

Rnd 2:  Step 3:  **Ch 3,

Rnd 2:  Step 4:  Sl st in 2nd ch from hook,

Rnd 2:  Step 5:  Sc in 3rd ch,

Rnd 2:  Step 6:  Sl st into next sc in circle,**  Repeat ** to ** around (Rnd 2/Step 3 - Step 6) 4 x's to form 5 point star,

We are trying some of our tiny stars as earrings, though I think a good stiffening would be great for these. 

To stiffen:  Use diluted glue/water, soak stars, wring out excess glue/water, flatten out, allow to dry.

Crochet Star Chart, a galaxy of crochet STAR possibilities.

One crochet pattern with so many possibilities for crochet stars, starting with different sizes, different shapes to choose from, and endless possible uses for this 12 in 1 Crochet Star Chart Pattern.

The story behind the Star Chart...

One day my daughter says to me, "A Star Patch would be awesome, Mom.", and I think that is a fantastic idea! A few weeks later, she sadly tore her favorite pj pants, so I say to her, "A Star Patch would fix that right up. 😁", and my sweet girl loves the idea.

One would presume that having made an uncountable number of crochet stars, at least 2K, over years, and making patterns for stars, that I have to have some idea by now of how to make a star. 😅   Since my daughter absolutely loves stars,  I wanted this star to be the perfect star for her, but I wasn't sure which one to make.   And that is the moment the Star Chart was born.  Pick a star, any star. So many to choose from.

Using what I could dig up, I painted the back drop that night, and it also became the night that I finally found myself painting something. (yay!😅)  The Celestial theme carries throughout this pattern, 🌠 for Liz 💜

What a starry eyed journey it has been, very out of this world.

Crochet Hook Size Chart

Not sure about you, but I still find myself frequently using a crochet hook chart.

I use Boye aluminum crochet hooks, for the great smooth, rounded heads that slide so nicely against yarns. Boye hooks are also a great price for the avid collector, you know, one of each, several in your favorite sizes, and the occasional fun new color. 😅

The ease in which the pillowcase's go on and off, and fit different pillows, honestly is leaving me a little giddy. :)

Crochet Signature?

Paintings have signatures right, so why not crochet art?

Being the worlds worst about signing my art when it is done, makes it kind of funny that I thought that it was a good idea to sign crochet. 

Every once in a I'll remember to sign something that is near and dear, and while I was finishing up the Texas Pillowcase, I could not resist the urge and attempt to make a CROCHETED SIGNATURE 😅

So why isn't crochet signed? Maybe it is because it is pretty difficult to embroider on crochet, and there are several easier ways to leave your mark. 

It looks like the crochet signature will take a little more planning and practice, but I like the idea.
