Here at Doily Designs, we have not seen this used anywhere else, and having used it quite a bit on edges lately, I have decided to give this stitch combo a name, and call it the Riffle Edge.

This stitch combo is so simple, and gives an interesting look and texture to an otherwise simple, plain edge. Americana Coaster Pattern seen below.
The Riffle Edge stitch combo works nicely on projects both large and small. Like on the Valentine's Day Heart Coaster seen below.
Lately, this has been a favorite edge to use on anything from blankets, doilies, coasters, and more.
This simple, but interesting combo gives a little something extra to the look and feel of a crochet edge.

Hdc: YO, ins hook, YO, pull thru, YO, pull thru 3 lps on hook.
Mr: (Magic Ring). Loop yarn around 2 fingers, pull loop on hook thru, leaving an open ring, remove strands from around your fingers, Ch, work pattern stitches into this ring and around the tail, after working sts untwist the tail, join, close Mr by pulling tail gently but firmly closed tight.
