Tiny Star ⭐

Fun free tiny star pattern is one of my favorite tiny stars.

Old free pattern for Tiny Star is still free, but is now the Tiniest Star.

Both the Tiny & Tiniest Star patterns are now also included in the Star Chart Pattern, including 12+ crochet star patterns of various designs, sizes, and styles.

So many uses for these cute little stars. Use for Holiday decorations, for Christmas, 4th of July, or make earrings, or other jewelry or crochet.

Yarn: Very small amount of worsted weight yarn.

Hook:  Size E or F hook.

Measurement:  Approximately F hook = 4 cm/1.57 in, H = 5 cm/1.96 in

Gauge:  4 Sc x 4 Rows = 1 inch

Construction:  Made from the center out, using Magic Ring.

Very quick and easy for lots of fun with TINY STARS ⭐

Special Stitches:

Mr (Magic Ring):  Loop yarn around 2 fingers, pull loop on hook thru, leaving an open ring with strands removed from around your fingers, Ch 1, work stitches into this ring and around the tail, after working sts untwist the tail, join, close Mr by pulling tail firmly but gently closed tight.

Stitch Key:

Ch:  Chain

Mr:  Magic Ring

Sc:  Single Crochet

Sl st:  Slip Stitch

Begin

Rnd 1:  Make a Mr, Ch 1, 5 Sc in mr, join with  Sl st in 1st sc, close mr.

Rnd 2:  *Ch 3, Sl st in 2nd ch from the hook, Sc in 3rd ch, Sl st in next sc,* repeat * to * around 4 x's forming 5 point star, join with Sl st in 1st sp, fasten off, weave ends.

Rnd 1:  Step 1: Make a Magic ring, Ch 1,

Rnd 1:  Step 2:  5 Sc in Mr, join with Sl st in 1st sc, Close mr pulling tail gently but firmly closed.

Rnd 2:  Step 3:  **Ch 3,

Rnd 2:  Step 4:  Sl st in 2nd ch from hook,

Rnd 2:  Step 5:  Sc in 3rd ch,

Rnd 2:  Step 6:  Sl st into next sc in circle,**  Repeat ** to ** around (Rnd 2/Step 3 - Step 6) 4 x's to form 5 point star, 

Rnd 2:  Step 7:  fasten off, weave ends.

We are trying some of our tiny stars as earrings, though I think a good stiffening would be great for these. 

To stiffen:  Use diluted glue/water, soak stars, wring out excess glue/water, flatten out, allow to dry.

Originally my Pumpkin Leaf pattern, these morphed to Watermelon Leaves (similar type plant leaves), and presently are the Four Size Autumn Leaves Pattern, to celebrate the changing Season. The new Autumn Leaves Pattern 🍂 is a tad stiffer then the original, and has 4 fun new sizes.

This leaf design is based on pumpkin, watermelon, and other gourde leaves, but is a great generic looking leaf, for several different crochet leaf projects.

Free crochet pattern for 

Tiniest Star

This tiny crochet star works up in a flash to make several for appliqués. 

New** See this link for slightly bigger, but still TINY STAR PATTERN.

Skill: Easy

Yarn: Most any yarn will work, a very small amount (approximately 1 yd a star)

Hook: E (4 - 3.5mm)

Gauge: not crucial

(Try different size hooks and yarns for different size stars. Note that the 1st three pictures are cotton yarn, and the 4th picture is acrylic ww yarn.)

Stitch Key

Ch: Chain

Sl st: Slip Stitch

mr: Magic ring, (please, see **special stitches** at bottom of page)

To make:

1)  Make a mr,

2)  (Ch 2, Sl st into 2nd Ch from the hook, Sl st into mr) 5 x's for 5 point star. 

Pull tail gently but firmly and securely closed.

 Note; Make sure the tail is pulled tightly with no hole in the center, you may feel a slight pop as it untwist to pull out slack. Do not pull too tightly, though, as this can break the yarn.

Weave the center end first, incase it does break, then weave the last used end into beg Ch 1 sp, this helps connect that stitch and shape your star. Give points of the star a little tug for shape. 

**Special Stitches**

Magic ring: Holding yarn between thumb and first 2 fingers on left hand, wrap yarn around first 2 fingers so the yarn falls to the back and furthest away from you, insert the hook between these 2 fingers and under the top strand, grabbing second, hanging strand next to it with your hook and pull yarn through the loop. Make a chain, and begin the pattern, working in the circle around the tail of the yarn. For closing, untwist the tail from the loop, join before pulling tightly closed, pull gently but firmly, closing slack in the center of the circle.
