This started as a blanket with granny squares but ended up as a pillow cover. It's a big pillow and I can always make a matching blanket later :)

I love this joining method!  Called Celtic Lace Join, you will find the tutorial here. Below is a their beautiful example of this awesome join. So pretty!  Also found here on Ravelry.

For the Love of Palm Trees!  

Yes, Okay, I have a thing for palm trees, they bring me joy. They are All over our house; bathroom, dining room, etc.

So I wanted to make something with palms for the bathroom.  Sometimes you can get tissue boxes that aren’t too bad, other times they are just so ugly. 

With ugly tissue box on hand, love of palm trees and itching to crochet, I was inspired to make my palm tree tissue box cover.

The cover itself was made from this tissue box cover pattern. It says, "vibrant colors", and they are not kidding. :) The colors are so pretty!   It was just what I was looking for. The stitches are more loose than the single crochet found on most tissue box covers, which is nice. I wanted something different and this pattern was just the thing. 

I found this great palm tree pattern.

It is an adorable palm tree appliqué that yielded the perfect size palm tree for the tissue box cover.

Here is what I ended up with :)

It isn’t great, but a nice change from the ugly tissue box.
