Pillow Cover

Pillow Cover

This started as a blanket with granny squares but ended up as a pillow cover. It's a big pillow and I can always make a matching blanket later :)

I love this joining method!  Called Celtic Lace Join, you will find the tutorial here. Below is a their beautiful example of this awesome join. So pretty!  Also found here on Ravelry.

Palm Tree Tissue Box Cover

Palm Tree
Tissue Box Cover
For the Love of Palm Trees!

Yes, Okay, I have a thing for palm trees, they bring me joy. They are All over our house; bathroom, dining room, etc.
So I wanted to make something with palms for the bathroom.  Sometimes you can get tissue boxes that aren’t too bad, other times they are just so ugly.
With ugly tissue box on hand, love of palm trees and itching to crochet, I was inspired to make my palm tree tissue box cover.

The cover itself was made from this tissue box cover pattern. It says, "vibrant colors", and they are not kidding. :) The colors are so pretty!   It was just what I was looking for. The stitches are more loose than the single crochet found on most tissue box covers, which is nice. I wanted something different and this pattern was just the thing.

Learn how to crochet a tissue box cover using Bernat Mosaic Yarn. This adds pizzaz and a bit of flair to your home decor.

I found this great palm tree pattern.
It is an adorable palm tree appliquΓ© that yielded the perfect size palm tree for the tissue box cover.

Palm Tree Applique Pattern

Here is what I ended up with :)

It isn’t great, but a nice change from the ugly tissue box.

Crochet Christmas
Holly Berries

It's that time of year again and don't you just love all the Holiday decorations! Below are a couple of different size Holly patterns I wanted to share. They worked great for my uses!  Mine, pictured above went just perfect on my tree skirt. They have so many wonderful uses, such as great gift toppers, ornaments, and other decorative ideas.

First is "Christmas Wreath Holly leaves" by
The Lazy Hobby Hopper . She shows you how to make this beautiful wreath step by step. The pinecones are adorable!  The size worked great for my use.
Use 2-3 leaves with berries as embellishment, if you don't want to make the full wreath, or make it to the pinecones!

The other is smaller holly, more an appliquΓ© or brooch size.  This adorable "Holly and Berries" pattern is by Michelle Warwick. Her pattern is available on Ravelry.

Both patterns are so cute, you can't make just one!  I highly recommend making some Holly Berries this Holiday season! Great gift toppers, embellishments, etc. The uses are limited only by your imagination.

I like mine just about everywhere they have landed! On doilies, on gifts, blankets and tree skirts. Its hard to make just one!

Here are my shared photos;

above; difference of 2 sizes of the above mentioned patterns.

Same pattern, different colors.

Simple but elegant gift topper.

You can purchase these already made in my Etsy shop .

Crochet Yoshi Egg

         Yoshi Egg
        …..More Mario &
           Yoshi Crochet!!!

Having promised my son a Yoshi egg, I searched for a pattern and used an amigurumi egg pattern but instead of the normal Sc, I used a HdcI also used 2 strands of worsted weight yarn together and a K hook.  This thickened the egg wall so the stuffing wouldn't stick through.  Then the finishing touch was crochet circles placed randomly. It's a pretty big Yoshi egg. Around 9 inches.  My son and his Yoshi were pretty happy with it.

Bob-omb

This easy bob bomb drawstring bag was a hit with my son. There's no pattern for this, but it is fairly simple... Simply make a drawstring bag with the pattern of your choice, and add a nice braided cord for the drawstring, with tri-color strands of yarn affixed at the end. The you have πŸ’£ Bob-bomb πŸ’£ My son loves carrying his and Yoshi's treasures in it.

Nice handmade gift ideas for kids, or us grown kids :)

Best wishes and happy gaming!
